The Tritium series was born from Emma’s fascination with dystopian stories. It draws inspiration from the Metro series by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky and other post-apocalyptic novels. In Tritium – Covered in Ashes, the first part of a trilogy, readers are pulled into a world covered in ashes after a devastating nuclear war. Life has retreated into the shadows of what once was, leaving behind a fallen city. The survivors, now living in ruins, face an unrelenting daily struggle. They have formed a fragile community within an old military hangar, where civilians and military forces work tirelessly to secure their future with their limited resources. While cooperation and mutual respect are essential for survival, the military’s iron grip casts a heavy shadow over the hangar, ruling with stern authority.
Yttila Osbero, the protagonist, was born into this war-ravaged world, already altered by the struggles of survival. However, his life takes a sudden turn when, during a patrol, he stumbles upon a wounded enemy soldier. Izsák, the enemy, belongs to the Colonists—another group of survivors locked in a bitter conflict with the military over scarce supplies and territory. Trapped in a toxic, uneasy relationship with Izsák, Yttila’s already fragile trust in the military begins to crumble. This leads him on a deeply personal journey to carve out a new path that stretches beyond the confines of the life he is always known in pursuit of freedom.
